Beth Carlson

After a twenty year nursing career, twelve years ago Beth Carlson decided to switch her focus to a career in fine arts. In a relatively short period of time Beth’s animal portrait’s and hunt scenes in oil have garnered numerous awards. Her artwork has been published on two book covers and numerous national and international magazine covers, including The Chronical of the Horse and Gray’s Sporting Journal. Beth has also been featured in articles in several sporting magazines including the Jan/Feb 2009 Sporting Classics magazine. Two of her paintings are part of the permanent collection of  The National Bird Dog Museum in Grand Junction, TN and three works are bequeathed to the American Kennel Club Museum in St. Louis, MO.

It comes as no surprise that Carlson’s hunt scenes, landscapes, and animal portraits are coveted by animal lovers as her ability to capture an animal’s personality and physical characteristics and meld them into a setting is seemless. “She possesses a conviction of accuracy and authenticity which are both necessary and appreciated by collectors,” said Robert Abbett about Carlson’s work. Beth’s seven consecutive solo exhibitions of paintings in oil at the Dog and Horse Fine Art Gallery in Charleston, SC is a tribute to her art. Carlson is a member of the Women Artists of the West and Oil Painters of America.  Beth’s paintings are held in numerous public and private collections world wide.
