NOVEMBER 2013 – “SERENITY 2013”
 “Center Peace” Acrylic on Canvas by Jane Herbert (Portland, ME) Richard Boyd Art Gallery announces the opening of “Serenity” a mixed media exhibit on November 1st at 10:00 a.m. The annual group exhibition features a selection of original works of art by regional artists working in a variety of media and styles from traditional landscapes and portraits to modern digital collage paintings. Each work reflects the artists’ interpretation of serenity. On exhibit are paintings by Jane Herbert in acrylic on canvas depicting a variety of genres from a mother and child portrait to tranquil landscapes and coastal scenes, modern digital collage paintings on canvas by Petrea Noyes, seascapes and island scenes in oil on canvas by William Steele, works in acrylic on canvas depicting harbor scenes by Gwen Sylvester, landscapes and woodland scenes in acrylic on canvas by Jay LaBrie, images in pastel by Bob Santandrea, a mixed media triptych sculpture by Oliver Solmitz, and coastal scenes in ink wash by Pam Cabanas. The exhibition is onpen free of charge to the public through November 30, 2013. During the months of November and December Richard Boyd Art Gallery is open Friday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and by appointment. There is no reception for this exhibit. The gallery is located on Peaks Island, at the corner of Island Avenue and Epps Street, in the first building on the right, on the first floor.
