OCTOBER 2013 – “SCENES FROM MAINE”
 “Friendships at Anchor” by Jane Herbert (Peaks Island, ME) Richard Boyd Art Gallery announces the opening of “Scenes from Maine” the fifth annual exhibit of works depicting imagery from Maine. The exhibit showcases the diversity of subject matter in Maine which has long been a source of inspiration for artists. The exhibition features a selection of art in a variety of media depicting images from the interior to the islands and coves of coastal Maine. Each work reflects the artist’s interpretation of scenes from maine. On view are paintings and images by gallery represented artists Jane Herbert in acrylic on canvas depicting harbor scenes and coastal views, coastal scenes and seascapes in oil on canvas by William Steele, harbor scenes and seascapes in acrylic on canvas by Gwen Sylvester, paintings in watercolor or acrylic by Wilson Stewart depicting the working waterfront and scenes from Peaks Island, ink wash images of the Maine coast by Pam Cabanas, coastal scenes and images from Peaks Island in pastel by Bob Santandrea, works in miniature by Wyn Foland in a variety of media depicting island life and coastal scenes, and images in acrylic on canvas by Jay LaBrie depicting landscapes and city life. The exhibition is on view free to the public from 10:00 am to 5:00 by daily and by appointment October 4 – 30, 2013.
