(Peaks Island, ME), Richard Boyd Art Gallery is seeking submissions of original works of art by established and up and coming artists, with connections to the State of Maine, for an exhibition opening April 5th, 2013. The exhibit “Off  The Wall: Satire in Contemporary American Art” will feature original works of art exploring issues relevant to the times, political, environmental, financial and social. Works considered will include commercial art , illustration art covering cartoons, caracatures, editorial, book and advertsing, sculpture, paintings, geometric abstraction, and graffiti art.

Entries will be juried from digital by curator Pamela Williamson. All works must be original works of art by the artist, created within the past two years and include an image suitable for print, medium, title of work (if untitled please list as Untitled Work), unframed dimensions if applicable, date created and retail. All entries must be accompanied by an artist statement about the work, artist bio and CV. Up to five entries per artist will be accepted through January 31, 2013. There is no entry fee. Selected works must be gallery ready. The gallery takes a 30% commission on all retail sales. Final selections of art will take place on February 2, 2013. Artists will be notified of selections on February 4, 2013.
