Jay LaBrie has painted since his early childhood in Frenchville, Maine. Art was not taught in public school when Jay was growing up so he took private lessons from artists in the area including Canadian artist Claude Picard. As a young man LaBrie studied with Lily Michaud at the University of Maine at Fort Kent and also attended a commercial art school in Boston, but decided commercial art was not for him. Jay’s work spans multiple genres: landscapes, coastal scenes, still life and portraits. His use of subtle hues depict the beauty of each study and invite the viewer to step closer. Although LaBrie studied with several artists he considers himself mostly self taught, transforming those earlier influences on his work into his own signature style.

A gifted artist working in a variety of media, Wyn Foland is well known for her impressionistic style paintings in miniature. Wyn creates large scale paintings and miniatures which by definition are 4″ x 6″ and employ all the principles of larger scale works. Foland’s acrylic, watercolor and mixed media paintings are an expression of her inner self and surroundings. For the past 32 years, Wyn has traveled to Peaks Island, Maine to create en plein air paintings immersing herself in the natural beauty and unending inspiration of the Island. Foland paints multple genre including landscapes, seascapes, figures and local architecture. When not traveling creating paintings and filling her sketch book Wyn can be found working in her studio outside of Atlanta, Georgia.

After careers as a software engineer and publishing entrepeneur Keith Weiskamp decided to pursue a career as an artist working with glass casting and glassblowing. Weiskamp’s glass vessels are a contemporary mix of traditional Venetian glassblowing and Japanese metal foil techniques. Keith’s current body of work is an exploration of patterns and textures on glass. Wesikamp currently splits his time between his home in Maine and his home and studio in Scottsdale and Phoenix, Arizona.

A retired Nurse Anesthetist and potter for 35+ years, Richard (Rick) Boyd took his first pottery course in the 1960’s while attending college in Philadelphia, P.A. Rick creates original hand made ceramic art and pottery in his studio on Peaks Island, ME, where he has lived since the mid 1970’s. Rick works in all clay bodies and is still amazed with the process of transforming balls of clay into works of art. Rick’s work is “about centering the human body and making a connection with the clay. My energy and the feel of the clay define the shape of the piece.” Rick’s pots are collected for thier classic lines and unique glazes made in his studio on Peaks Island, Maine.
